The Queen's Favorite

Sir Walter Raleigh was obviously Queen Elizabeth's favorite.  This made him very popular all around.  The Queen adored him and gave him many things: a mansion, rooms in the palace, and also she let him explore and find the New World.  She helped fund him with his idea of a fort on Roanoke.

He had everything and anything any man during that time would hope to have or even see!  He was very wealthy and had many jewels, some of which were on his clothing.  He had pure silver plates and fancy furnishings.

However, probably Raleigh's most interesting fact was that he was very intelligent.  He thought through everything and was quick witted.

Sir Walter Raleigh was knighted by the queen and was her personal protector.  Invasions were happening all over Europe and many nations were being cqaptured and defeated.  England was preparing for invasion and many assassination attempts aimed for the queen were adding up very quickly.

He had to be pretty special for the queen to find such an interest in Raleigh.
